Welcome to Coldfoiling - THE most creative print process you can design with. Imagine being able to create your greeting card, packaging or brochure with any, and as many metallic colours as you want, all in a single print-pass. Forget choosing a foil colour from a pre-chosen swatch book…make your own metallic colours!!

20 years it has taken us to perfect the art of Coldfoiling. As the pioneers of this process, Windles has taken this unique process way beyond our expectations.

In a single pass, and with ultra-accurate registration, we are able to print a fine layer of shiny silver foil anywhere within the B1 sheet. You can design which elements of your imagery you would like to be metallic. From there, the sheet continues its journey through the remaining units on the litho press, applying inks over the foil areas turning them into fantastic shiny colours.

To help you develop your concepts and choose your final design, we have produced a series of very extensive colour guides that form the basis of the process. With 600 swatches to look at, this is a fantastic starting point, showing you how the CMYK litho inks translate when underpinned with the silver coldfoil.

Not only can you understand the full colour range, but we have also included some textures of coldfoil, gradients of colour and facets of tones. This process is unbelievably versatile, and we actually find the hardest part is narrowing down your ideas and what to design with it.
