MEDI-Case ®

NHS patients admitted in to hospitals will often have healthcare items that need keeping safe. Dentures, hearing aids and spectacles are commonly lost or accidentally removed during ward cleaning. This is a significant inconvenience for the patient both during their stay and the administration in rectifying the loss. This also becomes a large cost to the hospital trust. The Windles Group product design team were asked to develop a place where these items can be logged and stored through the patients stay. And so we have the MEDI-Case. A lightweight, recyclable and handy solution for medical belongings. With a designated area for the patient detail sticker, and a simple ‘tick’ box illustration on the lid, the MEDI-Case will provide a much nicer experience for the patient, as well as saving the trust large amounts on compensation claims.

Clear, simple graphic design on the lid to help identify and log what items are enclosed. The MEDI-Case is made from 100% recyclable Polypropylene. This material was chosen for it’s waterproof and easy-clean surface. Once the MEDI-Case is not required, it can easily be recycled in your normal home recycling system.

The inner product area has a neat ‘pull out’ flap system that allows a denture pot to be held in place, leaving space in front for hearing aids and spectacles. Instructions on how to make the MEDI-Case and use the inner flaps are all printed on the product for quick reference.
